HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - The world’s largest manufacturer of rubber bands is hosting an event on October 2 in celebration of National Manufacturing Day.

The Alliance Rubber Company is giving the public a chance to see the inner-workings of manufacturing. During the event, sixth graders from Fountain Lake School will have the opportunity to tour the facility, learn about manufacturing and hear about career opportunities in the manufacturing field.

The students will arrive at 9 a.m. on Friday to the Alliance Rubber Company facility located at 210 Carpenter Dam Road in Hot Springs.

Amy Fecher, deputy director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, will be one of the speakers during the event, and Assistant Hot Springs Mayor Rick Ramick will be in attendance. 
 

MALVERN, Ark. (KTHV) - The Malvern Chamber of Commerce will host a member breakfast on Thursday. 

The chamber invites all members to join them at the College of the Ouachitas at 8 a.m. for a breakfast catered by Jimmy's Family Restaurant. 

Tony Gatlin, owner of Strictly Art Photography, will be giving a personal experience presentation starting at 9 a.m. and lasting until 11 a.m. 

Courtesy of Farmer's Bank &Trust, all of the food will be provided at no cost to the members and guests.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - Hot Springs National Park is bidding farewell to the “Arkansas Champion Trees: An Artist Journey” and welcomes the public to a special reception on September 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to honor artist Linda Williams Palmer at the Cultural Center on Bathhouse Row.

Light refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends of Hot Springs National Park.  The Cultural Center is located at the former Ozark Bathhouse and it is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The final day of the Champion Trees exhibit is September 20.

According to the National Park Service, more than 2,400 visitors have browsed and enjoyed the Champion Trees exhibit since its opening in January 2015.
