Award-winning Arkansan Jeff Nichols to bring next feature film home

We are looking to cast “Neckbone” in Arkansas!  He should be , Caucasian, 13-17 years old whose life experiences in a rural environment results in a hard edge and survival instinct.  This role requires that he be comfortable in boats and water.  Other outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and motor biking would be ideal.

This role is also auditioning in other states and Los Angeles.  As proud Arkansans this is an opportunity to showcase what The Natural State has to offer.  Spread the word; encourage all who fit the description to make application immediately.

We are also looking to cast “May Pearl” in Arkansas as well.  She should be Caucasian, 15-17, a small town girl with natural beauty.

In addition casting will include approximately 400 actors, extras and stand-ins.

The Stars Come Out, Inc. is sponsoring a video contest: Get those dancing shoes ready, parents — the second annual National Dance Day is taking place in just a few short weeks on July 30.

Enter your child/ children now to win private lessons from a local dance studio, prizes, and Savings Bonds in the amount of $100, $50 or $25, courtesy of Maumelle Bank of the Ozarks.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Fireworks stands across the state are starting to do big business as Arkansans prepare to celebrate the Independence Day weekend.

Because Attorney General Dustin McDaniel hopes everyone has a safe and happy holiday, he issued these safety tips to remind Arkansans about state laws concerning fireworks.

Miss Arkansas Pageant offers free tickets to students

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. –  The Miss Arkansas Scholarship Pageant is proud to announce that there will be free tickets for students available at this year’s pageant.  On Wednesday and Thursday, July 13 and 14, Junior High and High School spirit squads are invited to attend the Preliminary competition free!    Spirit squad members must wear their uniform / team gear in order to receive complimentary admission. 

On Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16, fraternity and sorority members will be able to watch the final night of preliminary competition and the crowning night for free as well!  Greek members are asked to wear their letters or pin in order to gain complimentary admission. 

For both groups, there will be a table set up outside the Convention Center, on the Embassy Suites side near the box office.  Spirit Squad members and Greeks are asked to check in between 6:30 p.m.
