Arkansas fashion designer, Rulli Torres, recently made a big statement during New York City Fashion Week by showcasing his designs and donating time for a special event called PLITZS NYC Fashion Show and Charity Fundraising Gala.  Funds were raised for YES!, a non-profit organization that was created to provide information, resources, and support for anyone that is affected by cancers of the liver.

Torres says of his participation,"I had a really close cousin and favorite uncle pass away from cancer in the last few years and I've always been interested in contributing to various causes.  I'm very honored to have been asked to participate in this event.  If in some small way it helps one cancer survivor feel beautiful then I'll be very happy."

Malvern player one of two to win $40K

Malvern player one of two to win $40K

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Saturday night’s Powerball drawing didn’t produce a jackpot winner anywhere in America.  But two Arkansas players came out on top when each won $40,000.  The winning tickets were purchased at Exxon Travel Mart on Main Street in Mountain View and at Tobacco Superstore on Page Street in Malvern.

The two winning players’ identities will not be known until they cash their tickets at an Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center in Little Rock (124 West Capitol), Camden, Springdale, or Jonesboro.

A prize at this level is won when the player correctly chooses four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number.  The prize is $10,000, but both  these players wisely added the $1 PowerPlay option, resulting in the prize quadrupling  to $40,000.  Whatever the jackpot results, Powerball offers prizes between $4 and $2 Million every Wednesday and Saturday night!
