Body of missing man found near Gurdon

CLARK COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Clark County Search and Rescue crews have found the body of a missing person.

Sheriff Jason Watson said the body of 24-year-old Wesley Livingston was found Tuesday sometime around 7:30 p.m. five miles from the Georgia Pacific plant in Gurdon where he worked.

Livingston was reported missing March 10. Following the issue of the missing person report, Clark County Sheriff's Office along with Ashley County Sheriff's Department, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Game and Fish Department, Arkadelphia Police Department, Gurdon Police Department, the Clark County Office of Emergency Services and other law enforcement agencies throughout southwest Arkansas joined efforts in the search for Livingston.

According to police, the initial discovery of Livingston's body suggested that his death was self-inflicted.

"We have worked around the clock to find Wesley since he was reported missing. Unfortunately, this was not the outcome that any of us had hoped for," said Watson. "At this time, we are continuing our investigation and will report more details once our investigation is concluded."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clark County Sheriff's Office at (870) 846-2222.
