Water park opens Saturday at Magic Springs

HOTSPRING, Ark. - The water park area of Magic Springs Water and Theme Park, Crystal Falls, is set to open Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The water park will operate on weekends through May 17 and seven days a week beginning Friday, May 22 through August 16.  The theme park opened April 11.

Steve Honeycutt, general manager of the park, announced a new attraction for small children and several enhancements in the water park area:

“We will add children’s slides, including a “bowl” type slide, where riders descend a drop into a round bowl and out the middle into the water,” said Honeycutt.  “The new slides will be near the Crystal Lagoon area. We are also continuing to add shade in the area. This is a popular spot in the park, but it lacked attractions for small children.  With the addition of slides and all the shade, it will be an even more popular spot for families to enjoy their time in the water park."

 Other enhancements include:

·      Stadium lighting added in the Crystal Lagoon area to allow for extended hours of operation

·      New menu items and upgrades to the Big Kahuna Café, including more seating and ambience enhancements

·      A new retail store, Surf's Up!, featuring swim apparel and other items for guests’ convenience

·      Three additional luxury cabanas and upgrades to the current cabanas overlooking Crystal Lagoon.

“Crystal Lagoon is the prime viewing area for viewing our fireworks shows, which we offer each Friday evening in July,” said Honeycutt.

"These upgrades will be a tremendous addition to an area that has become very popular with our guests, “he added.

One of the park’s popular attractions, Splash Island, debuted two years ago and remains a popular spot for guests. It is more than four stories tall and features 10 water slides, a bucket that dumps 1,000 gallons of water every 10 minutes and dozens of ways to get wet and stay cool. It also features bubbler jets, water wheels, tipping buckets, water curtains, net climbs, pools and waterfalls.  There is also spacious, shaded seating around the attraction.

The water park also features the exciting surf simulator Boogie Blast, Kodiak Canyon Adventure River, Seven Falls body and tube slide tower, a 350,000-gallon wave pool and much more. Smaller children will enjoy Bear Cub Bend, and Grizzly Creek Splash Zone.

For the ultimate VIP experience at the water park, visitors can rent their own private cabana, a personal space with a variety of amenities.

The park also offers skill games and food options, including Smoke on the Water, an enclosed, fully air-conditioned barbecue restaurant.

One-day ticket are $59.99 on Saturdays and $44.99 on any other days.  Children under 4 feet in height and Ages 55+ are $36.99 on Saturdays and $34.99 on any other day.  Children three and younger are free.

Walk up groups are $39.99 on Saturdays and $37.99 on any other day.  Groups that book one week prior to their visit, may get a rate of $36.99 for Saturdays and $34.99 on any other day.
